Tiger Woods rolled in a 15-foot birdie putt on the last to join fellow American Rocco Mediate in an 18-hole playoff for the 108th U.S. Open. Overnight leader Woods carded a round of 2 over 73 to stay in contention for his 14th Major title. Earlier, Mediate had shot a par 71 to take a one shot lead over Woods and Lee Westwood.
