Spain edge out Italy in Shootout

Spain knocked out Italy 4-2 on penalties to book a semi-final berth against Russia. Real Madrid keeper Iker Casillas saved spot-kicks from Daniele De Rossi and Antonio Di Natale after a goalless 120 minutes before Cesc Fabregas slid the winning penalty past Gianluigi Buffon. This was Spain’s first victory over Italy in a major championship since 1920 Olympics in Antwerp. Winners of 1964 edition, Spain now take on Russia on 26th June. Spain are the only unbeaten team left in the tournament.
