Sania Nehwal was beaten 12-21, 21-18, 21-16 by World No. 5 Hongyan Pi of France in the second round of the Indonesian Open. Saina had a good start and fought hard till the end, but Pi was too good for the Indian National Champion. The 18 year old was the first Indian woman to win a four star event at the 2006 Phillipines Open.
