Manchester United have lodged an official complaint with FIFA over Real Madrid's interest in signing Cristiano Ronaldo. The English champions have reacted angrily to the Spaniards' persistent courting of the 23-year-old winger. Article 18 of FIFA's regulations states that one club have to inform another in writing if they are to start negotiations with their player. The rules though do not specifically state that the club that owns the player has to give its consent.
