Liverpool were shocked by Reading as they lost 1-3. The loss was accounted by some poor decisions by the referee. Reading converted the penalty which was soon countered by Steven Gerrard's goal for Liverpool. But Reading showed them what they are capable of in the second half two goals from Kevin Doyle and James Harper. Liverpool face Manchester United in their next match.
