Hushovd wins Tour de France second stage

Norwegian Thor Hushovd won the second stage of the Tour de France after a rain-soaked 164.5-kilometre run from Auray to Saint-Brieuc. The Credit Agricole sprint specialist won in a time of three hours, 45 minutes and 13 seconds, while Kim Kirchen and Gerald Ciolek were awarded the same time in second and third place respectively. Alejandro Valverde finished in the trailing pack, but retains the yellow jersey.
