Alonso had a tough year with Mclaren last season as he was less favoured for his team mate Hamilton. Hence he finally decided to leave Mclaren only to join his previous team Renault. It is speculated that Alonso will be the highest paid driver in Formula One. His place at Mclaren will be replaced by Kovalienan. Nelson Piquet Jr, has been promoted to the race team as Alonso's team mate. Alonso is believed to have negotiated number one status with Renault.
