Chelsea's veteran striker Didier Drogba has undergone knee surgery recently and could well miss the African Cup of Nations. Drogba is the notable striker of Ivory Coast and the entire team depends on him. The 29-year-old Ivory Coast captain suffered a recurrence of his injury in training on Friday and had surgery on Saturday. It is not clear how long the surgery will put Drogba out of action but he is due to play in the Cup of Nations. Drogba has scored nine goals in 15 appearances for Chelsea this season and his absence is a major setback.
